IO2 - System of monitoring and preventive support against ESL

The IO2 consists of:

1 - A prototype of a early warning and prevention system aimed at implementing:

• Constant monitoring;

• Immediate support in order to contrast progressive desengagment and ESL;

2 - Toolkit for Mentor A.C.C.E.S.S (in order to manage the system).

The system will have two phases: Monitoring and Support:

  •   The goal of monitoring process is to evaluate regularly the intensity of the school disengagement        indicators/descriptors (and of other predictive behaviours);

  • The goal of the support process is to respond to the needs of the students identified as "at risk",  involving them directly in the identification of useful actions for contrasting the disengagement.

The IO2 will be structured with the following MACRO-ITEMS:

1-  Phases of the A.C.C.E.S.S program: monitoring and support processes;

2 - Constant Monitoring process: steps and the tools;

3- Support process: the steps and the tools in order to:

    a) Establish the relationship with student/parents/class board;

    b) Deepen the problem (linked to the indicator/s of school   disengagement gathered in the monitoring phase);

    c) Define an action plan together with the student;

    d) Evaluate

4 - The Mentor (role, required skills, strategies to involvement of other external professionals);

5 - The TOOLKIT of the Mentor (training material).
